Update: here’s a new link that I created myself just in case  you wanna play, apparently the host of the network decided to shut down his turf. >_<

Btw, pinoy players are specially welcome in this server. Have fun guys!

My first CoH online game…

Last Saturday, out of boredom, I tried hooking my Company of Heroes game to Hamachi. To no avail, there was no other player online other than me. A few hours later, a guy from Australia buzzed me and asked me to play. Wow. :no1: At last.

Good thing my connection was all good, but my game play using the victory point rule sucks. Pinoy RTS players usually goes for the annihilate mode. Thanks to the legacy that ‘Command and Conquer’ and Starcraft left. But taking and holding a victory point has a far way approach in terms of strategy.

Here’s a sample map of Company of Heroes, I’ll briefly explain what each symbol represent :

Company of Heroes: Angoville Map

There you go. You see, this tactical map shows where the specific points that need to be secured. The blue star below is my Headquarters. The blue field surrounding around  the HQ is the territory secured around the headquarters.

On the other hand, the bullets in the map indicate the Munitions point.Munitions provide your troops their other abilities like, throwing grenades, equipping them with rifle grenades or bazookas, panzershreks etc.

The gas icon indicates the Fuel point. Fuel is needed for vehicles and other upgrades for your army.

The dotted circle indicates the Manpower point. This  one’s self-explained already.

And the stars around the map are the Victory Points. You need to secure more in order to win the battle. This section does not add any bonuses in your fuel, munitions or manpower, but is needed to win the game.

In order to gather resources fluidly, territories must be connected within the HQ, or else, the point will be useless. Though at some occasion,  some players deliberately cut the points of their enemies, cutting the flow of resources.

Movng back, I used Allies as my faction in the game. Good thing my connection was acting all good that time. The Aussie opponent I played with was so good in spamming Volksgrenadiers (basic infantry unit of the Axis Army), and unfortunately, I wasn’t able to counter the offensive since I’m used in playing the old-school annihilation mode. He commended me though for giving him a good fight in the later rounds.

Winning in victory points mode can be decided not by spamming high-tiered units, its up to the player’s strategy on how to hold the point and keeping the pressure on. Better luck next time for me. Lol. :no1:

Depapepe - Snow Dance…

Here’s Depapepe with Snow Dance…

Yoshinari Takuoka’s the one on the left and Takuya Miura on the other side. :no1:

The Bridge…

Two souls shout across a cliff.
With one friend in common
A bridge was clinging on borders’ end…

All that the bridge do is hold onto the rocks…
Waiting for them to move…
The bridge kept them looking at him…
“Go, don’t worry, just hold on to me… I won’t let you go…”

And then the souls started to cross…
Together they meet at the middle of the bridge…
The woman said: “At last… We’re together…”
And the man said: “We can’t be here forever… Let’s move out.”

The souls started moving on the edge of the bridge…
But the bridge’s steps started to get brittle.
Bitter from the sight, a step collapses…
And the woman grasped at the man’s hand for dear life.

“Don’t worry, just hold on to me, I won’t let you go!!!”
The man said while pulling the woman back to its feet…
“I said that myself…” The bridge thought…
And finally the souls were at the other end…

“Now, you’re with each other, its time to cut me loose…
I can’t afford to see your smiles  anymore…
I can’t hear your footsteps anymore…
Cut me now… I’m no more of use…”
